Album promotion “Jiggled Juggler”

In June 2024, I received an invitation to collaborate with the most famous jazz band in Europe, Obradovic-Tixier Duo! Out of all the artists across EUROPE, I was chosen to paint a clumsy juggler that presents the theme of today’s society, on their new album called “Jiggled Juggler”! The promotion of the album and the exhibition of my artwork called after it will take place in April this year in the jazz club in the heart of Paris.
For the promotional purpose, we toured in France, we recorded at different locations, castles and caves in untouched parts of nature. We painted unified together, both with music and brush.
The weather conditions were not ideal, but the togetherness that connected us that week was inexplicably warm and beautiful. Indescribably happy, grateful and pleased with this project, for me personally my FAVORITE one so far!

“Jiggled Juggler” is the sixth album created by “Obradovic-Tixier Duo”. As usual, the duo tells stories, each tune is created on a specific storyline and personal experience, but the difference to their previous work is that this time the audience doesn’t feel the connection to the main character, who is usually portrayed as a hero or a victim or both at once, or to the story that carries the strength of a hero itself; in “Jiggled Juggler” the main focus lies in criticism of today’s society. It speaks about the instability of the world, the fragility its own construction is based on, a facade behind which many aspects of the 21st century are hidden. The focus this time is put on just one main character, a jiggled juggler, who presents in so many ways, the society that is in desperate need to be rethought about and rebuilt, and that unfortunately, we’ve all created by ourselves.

Collaboration with Ivana Svjetlicic

In every new creation, the duo puts months of thoughts and reflection of what their next work will represent and how to portray what their thoughts behind are and what the music tells. For this particular work, Lada and David have chosen an inspiring Croatian painter Ivana Svjetličić, new on the Croatian scene, who conquers the audience with her unique style and technique. The Obradovic-Tixier Duo wanted to present their vision of the juggler who incarnates today’s society, through Ivana’s perspective and stylistics.
