Recording for the forthcoming album “Jiggled Juggler” – Obradovic & Tixier Duo (whose album cover artwork I am the author of) in France.
The promotion of the album “Jiggled Juggler” and the exhibition of my artwork is planned for April 2025 in the Jazz space in the heart of Paris. We filmed in different locations, castles, and caves in untouched parts of nature. We painted the same with sound and a brush. “Jiggled Juggler” is the sixth author’s album of the multiple award-winning French duo “Obradovic-Tixier Duo.”
French pianist David Tixier and Croatian drummer Lada Obradović with each piece of the “Jiggled Juggler” opus, thematize a separate phenomenon of modern society in which life is determined and subordinated to social networks and journalism, which has lost the foundations of a once honorable profession. Through them, they express their disagreement with the relationships in the business world, their views on the creative processes of artistic creation (authentic and less accurate), and the way of everyday personal struggle in such an environment.
Questionable political decisions and the wars they lead to are the painful inspiration for their music. Their juggler reflects this experienced, fundamentally unstable reality. The imposed image of the 21st-century world is just an illusion under which the foundations are collapsing at an unimaginable speed.
As usual, the duo tells stories through music. Each composition is created based on a lived situation and personal experience. The difference between the previous compositions and the new album is that this time, the audience does not feel a connection with the main character, who is usually portrayed as a hero or a victim or
both at once, or with the story that carries within itself the strength and characteristics of the hero.
In “The Clumsy Juggler,” the emphasis is on the criticism of today’s society and the hustle and bustle that breeds superficiality, the criticism of the belief of many that their way of seeing is the only correct and unquestionable intolerance towards others, and the imposition of anyone’s opinion on anything. This time, all of this is directed towards the central figure of a clumsy juggler – an incarnation of our society, as we have unfortunately created it ourselves, which is at a moment when it desperately needs rethinking and change.
